Mumbai:  Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan and Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar today left for Chennai, where Union minister Vilasrao Deshmukh is undergoing treatment for a liver-related ailment at a private hospital and his condition remains “critical”.

Chavan and Pawar left for Chennai soon after the state cabinet meeting here, sources said.

An official at the Global Hospitals, where 67-year-old Deshmukh is under treatment, today said the Congress leader is “still critical and continues to be under observation”.
