New Delhi: Expressing concern over Assam situation and exodus of northeastern from other parts of the country, the CPI today asked the government to urgently convene an all-party meeting to find ways to contain attempts by fundamentalists to spread disharmony.

“Both Muslim and Hindu fundamentalists tried to fish in troubled waters”, spreading canards to provoke disharmony and fear psychosis, CPI General Secretary S Sudhakar Reddy told reporters after a three-day meeting of the party’s National Council here.
